An employee is said to be the most important element of an organization.

These employees are hired on the basis of a day-long interview process and some activities. This process is generally for a long-term basis and is basically done so as to hire people who can manage all the major activities. There are many small tasks or activities that are to be performed on a daily basis or on a regular basis but it becomes difficult for the organizations to manage them at the same time. In such cases having an extra help in form of interns can prove beneficial and effective as well.

The procedure for hiring an intern is not very complex. Generally startups or companies hire interns on the basis of their grades and extra-curricular activities if they do not have a work experience.

You must be thinking, why should a startup spend extra for hiring an intern when the same tasks can be done by the existing employees?

Let me state it by giving an example of a startup!

There is a startup company named SWIO Corporate & ITES Private Limited that hires interns on a regular basis for some of its activities like Content Writing, Digital Marketing, Business Development, etc. It hires interns so that it could get help in all the one-stop-solutions that it provides so as to satisfy the business needs of it customers. It is trying to gain all the benefits that a startup can get by hiring an intern. Some of the points that will reflect on the reasons for which startups should hire interns:

  1. Fresh new ideas: An intern can bring in new and fresh ideas as they are new to the corporate world and also have that urge to prove their fortitude. They generally apply as an intern while studying which reflects that their concepts would be newly learned. They have the capability to suggest new ideas and alternative approaches to work. This can help the startups in making improvisations that can prove quite beneficial for them.
  2. Less expenditure, more work: Hiring interns who are students is an extra benefit as they are not much into the pay that they get but are generally concerned about the quality of projects they get. The main thing that matters to them is that they are able to increase their knowledge as well as improve their skills. So, basically a startup can get work done at a low cost.
  3. Improves the reputation: Hiring interns from different universities will help startups in spreading brand awareness which will thus lead in improving their reputation. The better the reputation of a startup is, the better are the chances of its business growth.
  4. An intern can be turned into an employee: An intern is hired for a short-term project and once the project is completed, the intern leaves. There are some cases wherein the intern might come for further projects. There are also some cases wherein startups provide pre-placement offers to its former interns which proves to be beneficial for both the intern as well as the startup. This can be beneficial because an intern will get a job at a place where he has already worked and for the startup, it would be easy as the incoming employee will already be knowing about the work that is to be done.

So, a startup should absolutely hire interns in order to build a good reputation, get work done and to look forward to the growth of its business.
